TURKISH AIRLINES ORDERS THREE MORE 777FS

Turkish Airlines has placed an order with Boeing for three additional 777 Freighters.

“These freighter orders will surely contribute to our significant target for establishing a young and efficient cargo fleet,” said M. İlker Aycı, chairman of the board and the executive committee at Turkish Airlines. “The new aircraft will be delivered this year and will provide us with additional flexibility to serve more destinations while we continue to develop our global freight service.”

The carrier took delivery of its first two 777Fs in December 2017 and has been deploying them on European, Middle Eastern, African and Asian routes.

“The 777 Freighter is the largest and most capable twin-engine freighter in the world today,” said Marty Bentrott, senior vice president of sales in the Middle East, Turkey, Russia, Central Asia and Africa at Boeing Commercial Airplanes. “We’re pleased world-class customers like Turkish Airlines recognize the value of the 777 Freighter’s long range and large payload capability.”

The 777F is based on the 777-200LR passenger airplane and can fly 4,900 nautical miles with a full payload of 102 tonnes.

Turkish Cargo already operates a freighter fleet consisting of one Airbus A300-600F, three A310-300Fs, nine A330-200Fs, two 747-400Fs and two 777Fs.
