The Taiwanese shipping company said the service will commence on January 26, providing a weekly direct operation between Kaohsiung, Osaka, Kobe and Hakata.

"The launch of service will expand Yang Ming’s existing services between Taiwan and Japan, namely JMV (Japan-Malaysia-Vietnam), JTC (Japan-Thailand), JTS (Japan - Taiwan- South China Express), JTX (Japan-Thailand Express service) and PAS (Pan-Asia Service)," it said in a statement.

Furthermore, it added that the transit time between Taiwan and Japan’s Kansai region will be shortened by 1-2 days at least.

"With the new service, Yang Ming will be able to continuously provide customers with more comprehensive and competitive services between Taiwan and Japan," Yang Ming added.
