PORT OF NANSHA INTRODUCES NEW SHIPPING SERVICE TO SOUTHEAST ASIA

Port of Nansha, the 5th largest port in the World, has launched a new service to Southeast Asia — providing direct shipping links for import and exports between Nansha and Surabaya, Semarang, Jakarta and Port Klang.

The 4th largest port in China and the largest port in South China said the new service will be jointly operated by Wanhai Lines, CMA CGM, ONE and Korea Marine Transport.

 

It noted that Wanhai Lines, CMA CGM and ONE will each deploy one 4,200- twenty-foot equivalent unit (TEU) container vessel for the service.

 

The Port noted that calls will be in Hong Kong, Nansha, Shekou, Surabaya, Semarang, Jakarta, North Port Klang, and West Port Klang.

 

Port of Nansha is the only deepwater port on the Western Pearl River Delta. It has 16 berths and 60 cranes.

 

The Port moves 13.94 million TEUs in 2017 and it has grown to over 16 million TEUs in 2019.
