CIMC AND GLOBE TRACKER LAUNCH SMART PRODUCTS FOR NEW SILK ROAD

CIMC Internet of Mobile Things International Operation and Service Co., a subsidiary of China International Marine Container Company, and Globe Tracker International, a Danish supply chain data provider, have rolled out a range of smart products aimed at China’s new Silk Road initiative.

 

CIMC IOMT and Globe Tracker have started manufacturing smart containers for CIMC’s customers. The first CIMC divisions to sell these containers will be Yangzhou Tonglee Special Container, Qingdao CIMA Special Reefer Co. and Nantong CIMC Transportation and Storage Co.

 

“We are pleased to take the next big step in the relationship between our companies,” said Jim Davis, CEO of Globe Tracker. “We will begin to ramp up our volumes to meet CIMC’s demand and the proliferation of the technology on the Silk Road.”

 

The smart technology will not just apply to containers, but will also cover include trucks, truck trailers, railway cars, wireless terminal infrastructure and other products that will benefit from global tracking , monitoring and remote asset management services, according to CIMC.

 

“The goal is to have all CIMC divisions supplying the container shipping, trucking, railway and logistics industries with global tracking, monitoring and remote asset management services and equipment,” said Shouqin Zhou of CIMC. “Our immediate target is China’s One Belt One Road initiative.”
