HUTCHISON PORTS LAUNCHES HONG KONG’S FIRST AUTONOMOUS TRUCK FLEET

Hutchison Port Holdings Trust (HPH Trust) has announced the launch of its inaugural autonomous truck fleet in Hong Kong, a zero-emission vehicle designed for efficient container transport at its terminals.

The AI-powered fleet of six autonomous terminal trucks was unveiled at Kwai Tsing's Terminal 4 — marking a first for Hong Kong's port operations and helping reinforce Hong Kong’s position as a global maritime hub.

The autonomous truck, built without a driver’s cab, is designed to operate alongside conventional vehicles under 'true' mixed traffic. Equipped with AI‑based control systems, binocular cameras, advanced sensors and high‑precision positioning, the vehicle is engineered for 24/7 continuous, all‑weather operation.

It also incorporates automated obstacle detection and emergency-response functions to support safe deployment on public roads.
