CMA CGM is launching a weekly shortsea service between Greece, Egypt and Southern Turkey.

It said the new Greece Egypt Turkey Express (GETEX) will connect North and Central Greece, Eastern Europe to Egypt and South Turkey.

It will also provide a direct and fast connection between South Turkey and Greece with a gateway to Eastern European countries.

The service will start on October 5 from Thessaloniki in Greece utilizing a single 850 TEU-vessel which will serve the Thessaloniki-Damietta-Alexandria El Dekheila- Mersin-Thessaloniki rotation every 10 days. 

CMA CGM said the new service will provide two day transit time from Thessaloniki to Damietta, Egypt and five days between Thessaloniki to Mersin.

The service also promises three days transit time between Mersin, Turkey to Thessaloniki in Greece.
