KALE LOGISTICS TO DEVELOP OMAN'S NATIONAL PORT COMMUNITY SYSTEM
May 8, 2025

Kale Logistics and its local partner, Novel Muscat, have been awarded a contract by Oman's Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology to develop a National Port Community System (NPCS).

The multimodal cargo platform aims to digitize and streamline operations across the country's ports, airports, land ports, and free zones, enhancing efficiency in logistics and trade.

The NPCS will provide a singular national logistics platform for all modes of transport and streamline operations across Oman's transport and logistics sector, facilitating international trade and boosting the state's business potential.

Eng. Abdullah bin Ali Al Busaidi, Acting Head of the Oman Logistics Center at the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology, outlined the four key pillars of Oman's Logistics Sector Strategy 2040, emphasizing market expansion, trade facilitation, employment, and technology adoption.

"The first pillar, Market Development, focuses on implementing projects to strengthen Oman's presence in land, sea, and air transport markets," Al Busaidi said.

The second pillar, Trade Facilitation, aims to modernize cargo processing systems across ports, airports, and supply chains. "This strategy represents a qualitative shift in how logistics operates, ensuring efficiency in cargo movement and trade," he added.

The third focus is Enhancing Employment and Omanisation, which prioritizes governance, regulation, workforce training, and increasing local participation within the logistics sector. "We are committed to capacity-building initiatives that strengthen Oman's role in global trade," Al Busaidi noted.

The fourth pillar, Logistics Technologies, encourages companies to adopt advanced innovations to enhance competitiveness in regional markets, adding that embracing technology is essential for Oman's logistics future.

"This is an honour for Kale and we are keen to acknowledge the foresight demonstrated by the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology in deciding to invest in the National Port Community System, which will bring countless operational efficiencies across the Omani cargo network," Vineet Malhotra, co-founder and director, Kale Logistics solutions, said.

"Through the NPCS, Oman is poised to enhance its Logistics Performance Index ranking, strengthen trade facilitation, and create new employment opportunities, contributing to the nation's economic growth. At Kale, our vision is to work with our partners to develop the next generation of efficient, sustainable, and resilient cargo solutions — and the NPCS in Oman will be a transformative step in that journey."

Phase I of Kale's NPCS will introduce the platform to Oman's ports, then subsequently expanding its operational capacities to include all modes of Omani cargo transport.
