June 18, 2025

Jingdong Logistics (also known as JD Logistics)  has launched JoyExpress, its self-operated B2C express delivery service in Saudi Arabia.

JoyExpress, which covers most regions, provides customers with doorstep delivery options, including cash-on-delivery, and delivery as fast as same-day or next-day, all fulfilled by its team of uniformed in-house couriers.

JD Logistics said in Saudi Arabia, it is establishing a network of warehouses, transfer and sorting centers, and a growing number of delivery stations. In addition to express delivery, the company also offers enterprise clients end-to-end supply chain logistics solutions.

The announcement said JoyExpress will offer a suite of additional value-added services, including address changes, temporary return storage, scheduled deliveries, reverse pickups, and insurance coverage. It will also support cross-border shipping, customs clearance, and local transportation, offering a fully integrated solution for international and domestic commerce.

JD Logistics is the logistics arm of China's largest retailer JD.com, and is one of the world's leading technology-driven supply chain solutions and logistics services providers.

In China, the company operates more than 3,600 warehouses, 19,000 delivery stations and service outlets, serving more than 600 million consumers and business clients.

Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia's Courier, Express, and Parcel (CEP) market is growing rapidly, driven by a digitally savvy population and the continued rise of e-commerce.

The market size is expected to expand at a CAGR of 6.48% from 2025 to 2030, with the B2C segment already accounting for 56% of the market value in 2024, according to Mordor Intelligence.

"Jingdong Logistics' investment in Saudi Arabia aligns with our national vision to become a global logistics hub," said Rayan Albakri, deputy minister for Logistics Services at Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Transport and Logistics Services.

"We welcome the company's advanced self-operated express delivery services, which we believe will not only elevate service standards in the Kingdom but also create new opportunities for employment, innovation, and industry development in support of Vision 2030."

Charlie Peng, head of Middle East at JINGDONG Logistics, said the launch of JoyExpress marks a key milestone in JD.com's international journey and business development in Saudi Arabia. "We look forward to expanding JoyExpress across the Kingdom, bringing our industry-leading large-item delivery and installation capabilities to the market, while continuously enhancing our sector-specific supply chain logistics capabilities in areas such as apparel, electronics, and fresh goods."

With the launch of JoyExpress, JD Logistics has now established a fully self-operated logistics chain in the Middle East, encompassing warehousing, transport, and last-mile delivery. Moving forward, the company said it will continue to scale its global warehousing network, expand international flight routes, and enhance multimodal transportation capabilities to better serve customers and partners across the region.
