EMIRATES ADDS BELLY CAPACITY WITH NEW A350 SERVICE TO HANGZHOU
September 10, 2025

Emirates is adding capacity to its China operations with its announcement of an additional Airbus A350 service to Hangzhou, China, on top of its daily service from October 26, 2025.

The introduction of the A350 to the route comes just three months after launching the service to Hangzhou—an operational upgrade that expands capacity and also introduces new cabin features on flights to its newest mainland China destination.

The Emirates A350 will operate on flight EK310 which departs from Dubai International Airport at 04:15hrs and arrives in Hangzhou at 16:00hrs; the return flight, EK311, departs Hangzhou at 00:10hrs, landing in Dubai at 06:10hrs.

Adnan Kazim, Emirates' deputy president and chief commercial officer, noted that over the last year, the company has made significant investments in its operations in the Chinese mainland.

The A350 is the first new aircraft model to join the Emirates fleet since 2008, complementing the existing line-up of Boeing 777s and A380s, both of which serve the Chinese mainland.

The Airbus A350 passenger aircraft offers substantial belly cargo capacity, making it a key player in long-haul freight transport alongside passenger service. The A350-900 typically carries around 17 tonnes of cargo, while the larger A350-1000 can handle up to 22 tonnes, depending on configuration and route. Both variants accommodate standard ULDs (unit load devices) like LD3 containers, allowing airlines to efficiently transport goods ranging from e-commerce shipments to perishables and pharmaceuticals.
