CMA CGM has announced the launch of its Cherry Express Service this year.
The service is dedicated to cherry exports out of Chile, designed to provide a transit time of 23 days between San Antonio, Chile, and Shanghai, China.
During the period, the carrier's ACSA 1 and M2X service will be adjusted:
ACSA 1 rotation adjustment: Shanghai → Ningbo → Qingdao → Busan → Callao → Chancay → San Antonio → Shanghai.
M2X rotation adjustment: Shekou → Ningbo → Shanghai → Tianjin → Qingdao → Busan → Manzanillo → Lazaro Cardenas → Posorja → Buenaventura → Yokohama → Busan → Shekou.
CMA CGM announced that its ACSA 1 - Cherry Express service will feature 8 sailings from San Antonio, Chile.
The service is scheduled to run from Nov. 28, 2025, to Feb. 11, 2026.
Between late November and early February, key Chinese holidays like Laba Festival and Lunar New Year drive strong demand for symbolic foods—especially cherries, prized for their vibrant red color, which represents luck, prosperity, and renewal.
Imported Chilean cherries have become a premium seasonal gift and festive staple, prompting ocean carriers like CMA CGM to launch the Cherry Express service: a dedicated, time-sensitive route that ensures fresh cherries arrive in China just in time for holiday celebrations.
