Suparna Airlines has launched direct Oslo–Shanghai (PVG) flights, adding new lift for fresh Norwegian seafood exports and strengthening Norway’s position in the global seafood market.
The route, operated with a dedicated cargo aircraft, officially started on January 24, 2026 from Oslo Airport (OSL), offering weekly flights to Shanghai Pudong International Airport (PVG).
This is the only direct route from OSL to this destination.
The cargo routewill provide increased capacity for the export of fresh Norwegian seafood to the Chinese market.
Eva Beate Lande, head of cargo at Avinor, said China is an "important and growing market" for Norwegian seafood.
"With this route, we can offer an efficient and reliable transport solution that meets the requirements for quality and delivery time," she said.
The direct cargo connection to Shanghai is one of several new cargo routes to Asia in recent times. It contributes to faster and more predictable transport of time-sensitive goods, such as fresh salmon and other seafood – strengthening Norway's competitiveness as a seafood nation.
Oslo Airport is a key hub for Norwegian seafood exports, with short distances from production sites to the airport and excellent infrastructure for cooling and handling services.
