The airlines reported a combined 233,523 tonnes of cargo for the month, recording a 35% year-on-year increase.

China Airlines saw its cargo rise by 26.7%; EVA Air's cargo volumes grew 52.5%,  Uni Airways increased by 55.5%; Mandarin Airlines was up 26.7% year-over-year in March, while Daily Air increased 2.9%; and Tigerair Taiwan saw a drop 99.2%.

Meanwhile, newcomer STARLUX Airlines reported a 937.7% rise in its cargo volumes for the month.

Taiwan Civil Aeronautics Administration said separately that cargo traffic for the month was up 34.4% (259,113 tonnes), while passengers were still down by 23.8% year-on-year during the period.

The month, however, saw increased aircraft movements or 15.7% to 26,426 as the number of flights increased due to the vaccine rollout.
