SATS said its operations in the Middle East have not faced any material interruption despite widespread airspace closures and flight disruptions across the Gulf, as the conflict in the region continues to affect aviation and cargo flows.
The Singapore‑based ground handling and cargo services provider said its facilities in Saudi Arabia and Oman "continue to operate under the appropriate safety and security protocols," adding that staff in the region, including Singaporean employees, remain safe.
"Since February 28, 2026, SATS has not experienced any material interruption to our Middle East operations," the company said.
SATS noted that unprecedented airspace closures in several Gulf states have affected global air cargo movements, though the company expects most shipments to find alternative routings as supply chains adjust.
"While flight disruptions may temporarily delay some shipments, air cargo typically moves through alternative routes as supply chains adjust," SATS said, adding that its global network allows it to "mitigate or manage supply chain disruptions."
The company said it is in close contact with airline customers and is adjusting operations as trade lanes evolve.
SATS' presence in Saudi Arabia and Oman also gives it access to airspace that remains open, allowing those stations to serve as alternate gateways for Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries affected by closures.
The company said it stands ready to support the movement of emergency supplies through these hubs.
SATS described the Middle East as a growing market driven by demand for e‑commerce and specialised cargo such as pharmaceuticals and temperature‑sensitive goods. Its stations in Saudi Arabia handled 12% more cargo in 2025 compared with the previous year, though this remains a small portion of its global volumes.
"As the situation in the Middle East adjusts to a new dynamic, we will leverage SATS' global network to minimise disruptions to customers," the company said, adding that it will continue working with airline and logistics partners to ensure safe handling and onward movement of cargo as routes and schedules shift.
