Frankfurt Airport's (FRA) cargo volumes grew in February, rising 4.8% year‑on‑year to 159,362 metric tons, according to operator Fraport. The increase came despite weather disruptions and strike‑related flight cancellations that affected overall airport operations during the month.
February's cargo throughput is also higher than the January 2026 levels, when Frankfurt handled 150,044 metric tons.
Despite the annual gains, February cargo volumes remain lower than the 173,610 metric tons recorded in December 2025, when peak‑season demand typically lifts throughput.

The February total represents a month‑on‑month increase of roughly 6%, indicating a modest rebound following a softer start to the year.
Aircraft movements in February declined 2.9% year‑on‑year to 29,320 takeoffs and landings, while maximum takeoff weights slipped 2.4% to about 1.9 million metric tons.
Fraport did not provide commentary on cargo trends, but the February figures suggest continued stabilization in freight demand compared with last year, alongside typical seasonal fluctuations between January and February.
