UNITED CARGO SUPPORTS GLOBAL TRANSPORT OF VANILLA FOR THE THIRD YEAR

United Cargo is helping keep the global supply of vanilla moving for the third year in a row, moving hundreds of tons of the high‑value crop through its temperature‑sensitive freight service.

Most of the world's vanilla supply comes from the tropical islands of Madagascar and Mauritius, where vanilla orchids are hand‑pollinated and cured through a meticulous, months‑long process before the beans are ready for export.

Once harvested, United Cargo takes over the next leg of the journey. Shipments leaving Madagascar and Mauritius move through Paris before being transferred onto United flights bound for Chicago and Newark.

Through its EXP (Express) service, United Cargo moves tons of vanilla across the Atlantic each week.

This year alone, United Cargo has already secured more than 280 tons of vanilla shipments, with additional volumes expected throughout the summer.

When the finished product—such as ice cream—needs to move, United Cargo relies on its TempControl service, a specialized solution designed for temperature‑sensitive freight.

TempControl provides the tight environmental management required to keep perishable goods stable throughout their journey, ensuring product integrity from origin to destination.
