With few passengers flying during the coronavirus pandemic, airlines have launched charter flights using passenger aircraft to move crucial goods around the world. A Korean Air Boeing 777-200 passenger plane carried 500,000 Covid-19 tests from Seoul Incheon to Baltimore, in what is said to be the first visit by a Korean Air passenger plane to Baltimore/Washington International Airport.
Public-private partnerships are vital to developing Asian port infrastructure. The Asian Development Bank says that needs in developing Asia and the Pacific will exceed US$22.6 trillion through 2030, or US$1.5 trillion per year, if the region is to maintain growth.
