The outbreak of the novel coronavirus Covid-19 has caused massive disruptions in movements of goods and services in and out of China, threatening to disrupt global supply chains.

Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru moved a record 386,780 metric tonnes of cargo during the 2018-19 financial year, leading to year-on-year growth of 11%. Two of the airport’s cargo terminals, above, are seen from a nearby road.

The Port of Jacksonville in northern Florida is also seeing an uptrend in its Asia volumes. In March 2019, it set a port record with the arrival of the 11,000 TEU ZIM vessel Cape Sounio on a service offered by the 2M alliance.
